Food in Japan: Supermarket

One of many things I love to visit and spend my time are "supermarket". As you can read from my previous blogs, I loooooooove going to street markets, green grocers, local supermarket. When I'm at home here in U.K, I spend most of my wages on food. I love going to charity shops to get bargains, same as food. I go to supermarket, first section I go is a reduced section to find bargains. I'm on a budget every month, I can't afford to buy posh food. I do whatever I can to purchase fresh and organic products.

Ideally if I could go to local organic farm shop etc, that would be lovely, but I don't drive, cycling has its limit for me. So, one day, when I move to a nice country side, learn how to drive ( or even vespas again!) I'd love to go round cute farm shops. ( and grow my own veggies)

Anyway, here's some photos from Supermarkets I visited in Tokyo.

Food hall in Tobu department store in Ikebukuro, Tokyo

My favo "vita coco" yum yum

Spam??? Why do they have them there? Japanese have nicer food than these!

Natural House in Aoyama, Tokyo

I actually was told not to take photos after three shots.... Price wise, they were a bit pricey.  They didn't have much health food/products, more like deli now....

SevenEleven convenience store in Shin-Kouenji, Tokyo

Local supermarket "Isetan" in Shin-Kouenji

This supermarket was lovely. Reasonable, very nicely laid out, lovely products. Their own brand deli foods also looked very yummy and beautiful. We bought a couple of packet of Ganmodoki (tofu product), and they were delish!

Assorted Tempura

Yummy deli foods
